Fastframe Eagan is being recognized as the WINNER OF NATIONAL A CUSTOM FRAMING CONTEST. The Declaration of Celebration is sponsored by our supplier Larson-Juhl. Our project won in the "Most Creative" category and was one of 4 awards chosen nationally.
The rules were simple-submit a patriotic project framed in one of the many Made-In-America moulding made by Larson-Juhl in Ashland, WI.
We took the contest a bit further-we actually made the "art" from a rustic barnwood-inspired picture framing moulding, too. The red and white stripes are cut from Vermont Oat and Brick while the field of blue is made from Vermont Denim. The outer frame was crafted from Bandana blacksmith. The stars were a bit of a challenge. We first intended to paint them on...which did not work well. So we changed gears and cut the stars using our Wizard computerized matcutter. The tiny stars were hand painted to match the Oat stripes and glued in place. In all, I suspect we had about 3 hours of labor into construction with perhaps another hour planning and figuring out the proper scale.
